Junior Quantitative Analyst-Equity and Commodity, London-£60,000-£70,000
Large Top Tier U.S. investment bank is seeking an experienced individual with model validation experience to join the highly technical Model Validation Quant group in London.
Personal Responsibilities:
-Participate as a reliable and pro-active member of the team. Self motivation to complete tasks and projects within the team.
-New trade verification. Daily validation of booking of structured and exotic trades in equities, commodities and alternative investments.
-Assist in validation of new pricing models or new products in EMC.
-Preparation of analyses, and regular reporting of model reserve calculations, issue reports, pricing submissions, parameter calibration etc.
-Use and interpret a wide range of Front Office systems, e.g. Murex, Avid/Diva and Bloomberg.
-Develop and maintain good communication with colleagues in related departments such as Trading, Middle Office, Risk Management, Audit, IT, Finance and Operations.
Technical Skills/Requirements:
-Quantitative background with BSc, MSc or equivalent in mathematics, physics, engineering or comparable education. Some professional experience an advantage.
-Good knowledge of financial instruments used in capital markets, in particular equity and commodity derivatives.
-Understanding of price modelling techniques for p&l and risk, including analysis of mathematics and underlying assumptions.
-Excellent IT skills including standard applications, operating systems, databases and source-code management etc. Good knowledge of structured programming languages with experience in C++ an advantage.
-Analytical thinking: approach problem solving systematically, anticipation of obstacles, make logical conclusions and see implications/consequences of solutions.
-Conceptual thinking: understanding key issues and implementation of coherent, practical solutions.
-Impact and influence: use direct persuasion, relevant use of facts and figures; show concern with professional reputation.

-Good communication and presentation skills.
